The Awards are sponsored by the Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour City to raise funds for various Rotary charities and to promote cartooning through the Bunker Cartoon Gallery and other galleries in Australian.

Duyfken 1606 Replica Ship Visits Coffs

In 1606, the small Dutch ship Duyfken sailed from the Indonesian island of Banda in search of gold and trade opportunities. They did not find gold - but they did find the northern coast of a huge continent: Australia. Captain Janszoon was the first European to map and record Australia in history so Duyfken's voyage marks the beginning of Australia's recorded history.
Celebrations of the arrival of the ship into Coffs include an official welcome of the ship and crew as well as an official dinner 'Australia-On-The-Map' to be held at the Big Windmill Restaurant (see further details below).

Amazing music featuring composers such as, Shostakovich, Keith Jarrett, Fats Waller, Serge Prokoiev Chopin, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin. Brubeck, Debussy and Ravel. Compositions and arrangements by Kevin Hunt are a feature of the piano duo programme. ‘I Want to Play Like Him’ is a concert title Simon and Kevin have used whilst touring Australia and sums up the respect for each others skill, creating one genre, their own.
